General Information

As the operator of leitstern-privacy.com, we are responsible for your personal data under applicable data privacy laws, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are visiting our website from an EU or EEA member state, the GDPR might grant you additional privacy rights. If you are visiting from elsewhere, other local privacy laws might apply. In the following, we will inform you about our use of personal data and your rights under the GDPR. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your privacy rights, or if you would like to know more about your rights in other jurisdictions our offers are directed to, you can reach out to us, e.g., via email to info@leitstern-privacy.com.

Hosting

Our website is hosted by Wix.com, a service offered by Wix.com Ltd., 40 Namal Tel Aviv St, Tel Aviv, Israel ("Wix"). Thus, when using this website, your data might be stored on Wix's servers that are located in Israel, the United States, several EU member states, and other countries. For both Israel and the United States, the European Commission issued an adequacy decision for data transfers under the GDPR. We have executed a Data Protection Agreement (DPA) with Wix that meets the standards of GDPR, Art. 28. For more information on the processing of data by Wix, please refer to their privacy notice that can be found here.

Log Files

When visiting our website for informational purposes, so-called log files are created automatically. Those log files contain personal data, such as your IP address, information on your internet browser, the operating system you use, parts of this website you visited, time and date of your visit, the amount of data transferred, links you followed, and your internet service provider. However, these log files are deleted after you leave our website. The temporary storage of log files is required to display our website and ensure the integrity of our IT systems. Therefore, our legal basis for this processing activity is a legitimate interest under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f).

Social Networks

This website uses links to social networks, such as LinkedIn. Those links do not share any personal data with third parties until you click on them. If you click on the link, personal data will be shared with the respective social network. The personal data that is shared depends on several factors, e.g., if you are logged in into an account of this social network.

If you use the "Share" buttons beneath our blog or news articles, this will lead you to the respective social network, thereby resulting in personal data being shared with the social network in question. If you are logged into your account, additional personal data may be processed at this point. Our legal basis for the use of "Share" buttons is our legitimate interest under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f) because it is within our interest to give you an easy, accessible way of sharing information on our website with others.

Forms, Newsletter, and Leads

If you use our "Contact Us" feature, you will need to share additional personal data with us. You can choose whether you indicate your name, but we require an email address in order to process your request. Our legal basis for this processing of your personal data is your consent under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a). If your request is related to a past, current, or future contract with you, an additional legal basis is the performance of a contract, or taking pre-contractual steps at your request, under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b).

If you use a "Sign Up" button (or similar) on our website, you will share your personal information with us to receive more information about our offers. This could, for example, be recurring newsletter emails. Currently, we do not use any external services for this purpose. Our legal basis for this processing is your express consent under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a) to be contacted by us, and, in addition, pre-contractual steps at your request under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b).

If you contact us via the LinkedIn Lead Form functionality, the information you enter, e.g., your name, company, role, and email address, will be processed by the LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 W. Maude Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, United States of America ("LinkedIn"). It is possible that your data will be transferred to LinkedIn servers located in the United States. LinkedIn is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Framework which ensures an adequate level of data protection. We will only use the data submitted through LinkedIn Lead Forms to offer you scheduling options for a free demo or introduction session via email. Our legal basis is your express consent under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a) that is required in order to submit the form.

Phone/Email/Mail

You can reach out to us via phone, email, or mail. Any personal data you share with us on such occasion will be stored as long as required in order to process your request. Our legal basis for this processing is a legitimate interest under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f), and, if your request is related to a current or future contractual relationship between you and Leitstern, under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b).

Retention and Deletion

We will retain your data as long as required to reach the respective purpose of our data collection. In case of personal data that is related to an inquiry by mail, email, phone, or other means, this means that we will retain your data as long as the issue you brought to our attention is resolved, and no longer than 6 months, unless the inquiry leads to a contractual relationship. In case of a contractual relationship, we will retain any personal data related to it for its duration, and possibly longer if required so by legal or post-contractual obligations. Data originating from LinkedIn Lead Forms will be retained by LinkedIn for one year.

Data Subject Rights

Under the GDPR, you have certain rights if we process your data. These data subject rights include the right to information, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, and certain rights in relation to automated decision-making. If our processing of your personal data was based on your consent under GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a), you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time, but the withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any prior consent-based processing.

Lastly, you have the right to file a complaint with a local data protection authority, e.g. in the member state of your residence. You can find a comprehensive list of data protection authorities and their contact information under https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en
